Alaska Graduation Test Waivers and Appeals

Alaska recognizes successful results on 17 other state exit tests: Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho. Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Arizona Graduation Requirements

This is the latest information on the Arizona Graduation Requirements. Notice the increased requirements for students in the classes of 2012 and 2013.  Be sure to continue through with the additional links to make sure you get the latest information. Arkansas Graduation Requirements

Be sure to select the correct requirements for either the Classes up through the Class of 2013 or the Classes of 2014 and beyond. Students are responsible for the Smart Core Courses. Students should also check with the school counselor to determine if there are other graduation requirements.

California Graduation Requirements

Use the chart to compare the minimum California graduation requirements to those required for freshman admission at the University of California or California State University then link to Doorways. Always check with the local school to determine any additional local graduation requirements. "Beginning with the 2012–13 school year (sunsets with the 2017–18 school year),  a district may choose to adopt a career technical education course as an optional high school graduation requirement."

Connecticut Graduation Requirements

The Connecticut Department of Education is in the process of recommending secondary requirements to prepare Connecticut students to be college and career ready. The Connecticut Plan outlines this plan which includes Capstone Projects. Contact the school/school district for updated local graduation requirements. "For the school year commencing July 1, 2012, and each school year thereafter, each local and regional board of education shall create a student success plan for each student enrolled in a public school, beginning in grade six. Such student success plan shall include a student’s career and academic choices in grades six to twelve, inclusive." Delaware Graduation Requirements

The Delaware Graduation Requirements and Diploma page lists the new requirements that for the graduating Class of 2015. Note there are additional requirements that take effect with the graduating Class of 2016 (entering freshmen 2012-13). Parents should check with the counselor for additional graduation requirements.

DoDEA High School Graduation Requirements

DoDEA graduation requirements are listed by subject area and number of required credits. Currently DoDEA requires 26 credits for graduation.

Florida Graduation Assessment Requirements

Georgia Graduation Test Waivers and Variances

Hawaii Graduation Requirements

You will find both the graduation requirements  for the Classes of 2010-12 and the Class of 2013 on. As always, check with your counselor to make sure you have the latest information. Note the brochure written for the parents and guardians of the Class of 2013.

Idaho Graduation Requirements

The new Idaho graduation requirements go in effect with the Class of 2013. Be sure to read the requirements that might require transfer students to take additional courses: senior project, math during the senior year, and three years of science. You may want to follow-up by reviewing the "FAQs About Requirements."

Indiana Graduation Requirements

Indiana offers 4 types of diplomas. Scroll down to the minimum Core 40 graduation requirements that must be met unless a student opts out. Be sure to review the Academic Honors and Technical Honors options. Caution: Indiana's definition of credit differs from that of many states.

Iowa Graduation Requirements

Beginning with 2010-2011, Iowa requires students to successfully complete 4 credits in English/Language Arts, 3 in math, 3 in science, and 3 in social studies. Louisiana Graduation Requirements

In an effort to improve state graduation rates, diploma choices are now being offered in Louisiana. Check out the current Louisiana requirements completing either a College/Career Diploma or an alternative Career Diploma. Students may elect to complete the Academic Endorsement and/or a Career/Technical Endorsement. Check with the school for local graduation requirements.
