Texas Student Success Initiative

Parents with students in grades 5 and 8 should learn about the Student Success Inititative. Revised in 2009, the promotion policies require students to pass their reading and math assessments after three attempts, or they may be promoted by the unanimous decision of the grade placement committee.

Virginia Graduation Requirements Page

Notice that there are different Virginia graduation requirements for those students who were 9th graders in 2010-11 and those who were 9th graders prior to that year. Washington High School Transfer Students Graduation Assessment Waiver

Students who transfer into a Washington public high school during the 11th or 12th grade and have passed similar state math, reading, science, and writing assessments in another state may request to waive the Washington graduation requirement. Transfer students at grade 11 and 12 also can immediately qualify for the Certificate of Achievement Option(s).
