Student 2 Student Reflections

Reflection from Paige, High School Senior in Colorado

"Throughout my time spent with the Military Child Education Coalition, I have met some remarkable people and made friends of a lifetime.  The conference this summer was my third MCEC-sponsored event and every year I attend something new catches my eye, I see familiar faces and it is like I never left.  I became a part of the MCEC family over a year ago and they have changed my life forever.  I will always be a military child supported by the MCEC family. "

Are you a student who has participated in the MCEC Student 2 Student (S2S) program?  What was the most exciting or fulfilling part of the process?  Share your lessons learned with us by commenting on our blog!

I am a middle school student involved in the JS2S program. I enjoy meeting new people and showing them around the school. Everytime I show someone around, I make a new friend and that is the greatest thing about JS2S.

Thanks for your post Daley!  For those of you who don’t know, Junior Student 2 Student (JS2S) is the middle school level of the Student 2 Student (S2S) program which focuses on high school students.  In both programs, a team of students from a campus receives program training from the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC), our parent organization.  When they return to their home school, they become the leadership for training other students on methods of supporting students who are transitioning to or from their school.  You can find more detailed information about both of these programs at http://www.militarychild.org.
