For those of you who've been following our Schoolquest.org Blog, you may recall my entry from November 19, 2010 titled "Free SAT/ACT Software" which can be found in the blog's "Homework Tips" category. Having a high school student myself, I decided to go forward with requesting this free software. Below you will find the first of a series of entries highlighting our family's experience with ordering and utilizing this program.
Utilizing the eKnowledge Corporation link I provided in the November 19, 2010 entry, I arrived at their home screen welcoming military families. I clicked on the green "Order Now" box which brought me to a screen that asks to you to "obtain a sponsorship code" by verifying your military affiliation (name, relationship, status and branch). From there, I was given several “purchase” options. If you choose their “Standard SAT PowerPrep” option (10-plus hours of instructor-led video and 40-plus hours of class work) your “order” (a $199 value) is free. Several other upgraded options are available for an additional fee ranging anywhere from $50 to $100. I decided to stick with their standard ACT program. When I proceeded to my “shopping cart” to check out, a pop-up window appeared offering me the option of adding their standard SAT program to my order for only a “Materials & Support” fee of $27.68. I decided to go ahead with the offer so that in the end, my Standard ACT & Standard SAT PowerPrep software order (a $399.98 value) only cost me $31.39 (including USPS First Class shipping) and arrived at our doorstep within the week. Stay tuned for a post on how it goes when my teenager actually starts using it! If any of you have taken advantage of this offer, let us know how your experience went and what you think of the program(s) . . . happy studying!
