Hello!  I'm excited to share a little of what is going on here in El Paso, TX at Fort Bliss.  I am working with Socorro Independent School District helping parents, students, counselors, and administrators every day.  One of the best things I see is that our parents are well informed and ready to find a school that suits their children in the areas of academics, social and emotional well-being, and extra curricular activities.  That's what I am here for.  I'd like to be able to say, "On a typical day I...." but honestly there is no typical day for me.  I often help parents with registration concerns, finding after school sports or childcare, or understanding the testing and graduation requirements.  I have counselors and principals call to ask for support in cases where Fort Bliss resources are needed.  If you need something here at Fort Bliss, you can almost bet, they have it already in place.  Another great thing about SISD is the personnel.  You can't find teachers, counselors, or administrators that love their students more!  The educators in this district strive each and every day to meet the needs of all students, and work diligently to make sure our military students are included.  Recently, our faculty and staff here have been able to participate in a MCEC® Living In the New Normal (LINN) training as well as a Junior Student to Student training.  These professional development workshops have helped our educators understand the unique needs of our military dependents.  I have seen many counselors practically run back to their buildings so that they can institute many of the ideas and concepts shared in these great trainings.
As you can probably tell from my story, I am very happpy to be here at Fort Bliss and Socorro ISD.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email me @
