Spring has arrived and with it the Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders that result in many military-connected families having to move.  When those families include school-aged children there are often many questions to be answered, especially when a move means relocating to a different state.

Want a list of district and campus directories?  Interested in learning more about your new state’s standardized testing program?  Wondering what Special Education programs they have in place? These are all questions that can be researched by paying a visit to our™ State Education Resources (SER) area!

From the SER home page, click on a particular state that you are researching and a list of topics to explore will appear in a pop-up window.  If you would like to cross-compare subjects over two or more states, click on the “Categories across all states” link at the bottom of the SER home page.  A list of 22 subjects to choose from will appear including “No Child Left Behind”, “Graduation/Promotion Requirements” and “ESL/Bilingual Education”.  Clicking on one of these subjects will bring up links for any and all of those states that have online information about that subject.

Links are checked to ensure they are current, and new information is added as it becomes available.

*Don’t forget to check out our™ “Find a School” resource as well when looking for information on schools in your new area!

Good luck in your research . . . and your next move!
