STEM . . . Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics . . . important subjects of study for any student!  For years now there has been a big push to encourage more girls in the United States to pursue these areas of study as they grow older.  The National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP) specifically “works to strengthen capacity of existing girl-serving STEM projects by sharing exemplary practices, research findings, and program models.”

The NGCP has created a series of FREE webinars featuring practitioners and researchers who share strategies for working with girls in STEM.  Coming next week is a special collaboration between the NGCP and Million Women Mentors (MWM) called Mentor Fireworks!  Taking place on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time, those who participate will learn more about activities and events around the country related to this partnership as well as the challenge they have presented to sign up one million STEM mentors over the next four years.  Since the collaboration began in January of 2014 more than 93,000 mentors have taken the pledge, and a national directory of female STEM role models called the FabFems Project has been created.

Learn more about this webinar opportunity and get registered . . . your participation may make the difference in a girl’s future education and profession!
