“The Art of Being a Military-Connected Child” . . . who would know better than the children of today’s soldiers?
Ever since it began in 2002, the Military Child Education Coalition’s® (MCEC’s®) annual “Call for the Arts” campaign has been an avenue for military-connected children to share what it means to be a military child. MCEC® uses every opportunity to display the artistic skills of these unique, resilient children . . . whether it is at their annual MCEC® Training Seminars, in their On The Move magazines, in their annual calendar or other publications . . . or even on their web site as well as our SchoolQuest.org™ home page!
Who can compete?
Open to all military-connected students, Pre-K through High School

Artwork, Film and Writing
What are the Suggested Topics?
- Cultures You’ve Experienced
- Military Lifestyle
- Your Wishes, Hopes and Dreams
- The Life Lessons You’ve Learned
When does it begin?
Every September 1st
What is the deadline?
Entries must be postmarked by the last Friday every January . . . so this year’s deadline is Friday, January 31, 2014.
