Just Sayin’…

How many times have you had a conversation that trails off with the phrase, “I’m just sayin’….”?  That phrase usually comes at the end of a comfortable conversation that has wound around and ends up with a very personal thought that is safely couched in the phrase, “Just sayin’….”.

The MCEC’s Student 2 Student program is designed to create these kinds of friendships and conversations between students.  The concept of Student 2 Student is a peer-based program of current students welcoming new students to their school.  Under the close supervision of a counselor or teacher, this group of students offers a safe place to belong and learn about a new school and its environment.

Student 2 Student is currently available in hundreds of schools across the country and even overseas.  The program can be implemented at every level; Student 2 Student (S2S) for High School, Junior Student 2 Student (JS2S) for Middle, and Elementary Student 2 Student (ES2S) for the youngest set.

To really capture the enthusiasm and energy of the various programs, you should read their monthly newsletter appropriately titled, Just Sayin’.  It’s fascinating to see the creative ways each school conducts their program and reaches out to new students.

Every time I read about military kids I am uplifted and hopeful for our future.  These patriotic students face many challenges and instead of giving up, they use those challenges to learn, grow, and help others.

April is fast approaching and along with April comes the Month of the Military Child.  It is truly one of the best months as we appreciate and celebrate the children of those who serve us all.  Never forget, military children serve, too.

Why not peruse the Just Sayin' newsletter to better understand these spectacular students and just why they are worthy of a month in their honor?

And then, please check back with us next week as we unveil our preparations for Month of the Military Child.  We have some fabulous resources to share so you can show appreciation to the military children in your life.

Best wishes,

~Amy
