"No matter if this is your first, third or seventh time, deployment is an intense and unusual part of our lives. I urge you to spend time with this great resource, and take care of yourself."
— Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO, Blue Star
After 10 years of war, military families are facing many challenges. Through deployments abroad and reintegration into life at home, our troops and families must remain strong. To do so, they need the proper support, tools, and resources.
Blue Star Families, the Military Child Education Coalition® (MCEC®) and their partners are working together in support of military families as part of the Got Your Six campaign which is focused on six key pillars of veteran reintegration. As part of this campaign, their goal is to provide this reintegration tool, the “Everybody Serves” handbook, to 300,000 military families and 100,000 primary and secondary school educators by December of 2014.
For use during pre-deployment, deployment and reintegration, “Everybody Serves” is available via:
and offers assistance with:
- Building resilience
- Strengthening relationships
- Learning copy strategies
- Preparing for/managing reunions and reintegration
Access this valuable tool here and find links to videos, worksheets and a list of additional resources based on a variety of topics as well.
