Just getting started with your college search?  Or perhaps you’ve already begun, but now you’d like to start comparing your top picks.  “College Navigator” is a great resource to help you in either endeavor.

Part of the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, the National Center for Education Statistics’ “College Navigator” allows users to search for colleges based upon state, zip code, programs/majors, campus setting and more.  You can build a list of schools with their “My Favorites” function which allows side-by-side comparisons, and an interactive map allows school locations to be mapped out as well.  Search results can then be exported into a spreadsheet for future reference when you’re away from the site.  The “College Affordability and Transparency Center” link on the College Navigator home page allows users to browse lists of institutions with the highest and lowest tuition & fees and net price.

This resource and many more can be found in the “College Preparation” section of our Library™.  Specifically, the Library’s “Paying for College” document discusses the most common sources students find to pay for college tuition and provides a list of other resources to consider as well, including College Navigator.

So come on over to our™ Library.  It’s FREE information and resources are available to you 24/7!
