American Icons - A Macy’s and Got Your 6 Partnership Supporting the Military
06/01/2013 Published by: Suzanne
Back in October I wrote about the Got Your 6 campaign initiated in May of 2012. This entertainment industry effort to engage civilians and veterans in facing the needs of the more than one million service men and women who will transition from active duty into civilian life over the coming years has been going strong for the last year.
This Spring Macy’s launched their American Icons program on May 12th. Lasting through Sunday, June 9th, this program allows shoppers the opportunity to donate $3 at the register to the Got Your 6 campaign (up to $3 million could be raised). In return, they receive a 15/20% savings pass for a day of their choosing (some exclusions apply). If shoppers donate $6, along with the savings pass they will receive a golden Got Your 6 pin which they can wear to show their support of this program.
Today, Saturday June 1st, is Macy’s Got your 6 Saturday. On this day only shoppers will receive a 25% shopping pass with their donation.
Money raised will go to programs that support veterans and military families including the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)™, the “parent” non-profit organization for SchoolQuest.org®.

Shopping can be a true win-win situation though the American Icons campaign. We here at MCEC™ and SchoolQuest.org® thank you for your support . . . for the sake of the child!Share This Page
