Visit the SchoolQuest Library for Information on S.T.E.M. Education!

Have you heard of the acronym “S.T.E.M.” yet?  No, I’m not referring to stem cells . . . this is a “STEM” of a different sort.  In this case it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and it’s becoming a buzz word for a new priority in education in the United States.  Just Google the term and you’ll see what I mean . . . S.T.E.M. Academies located all over the county pop up!  So what is all the hype about and what does it mean for you and/or your student(s)?   Learn more by paying a visit to our SchoolQuest.org Library.  You’ll find a pdf document with more details on this subject “filed” in our Elementary School, Middle School and High School sections.  While you’re there, take a look around at all of the carefully researched information available.  In this library, everything’s ready to “check out” at any time, with no “due dates” to worry about.  Happy reading!

My youngest son (freshman at high school) is in the STEM program and loves it. He is also part of their Robotics Team, soon to go in another robotic competition (they are really active on competitions year round, including summer). It gives the young men and young ladies something to occupy their time and makes them feel a part of the school even as freshmen, with the added bonus of the majority of the classes being college credited.

Thanks, Myriam, for sharing your son’s STEM program experience with us.  We at SchoolQuest.org wish him, and his whole Robotics team, the best of luck in their upcoming competition!  It’s great to hear about how much he’s not only enjoying his STEM learning, but also benefiting from it by earning college credit . . . as a high school freshman no less!  Congratulations to him and to all the other students out there doing the same through great programs like the Robotics team your son is on.  Keep up the great work, and for all the other parents and/or students out there participating in anything like this, let us know . . . we’d love to hear more about it!
